Kurz zum Klima : die Coronakrise und ihre Auswirkungen auf Umwelt, Klima und Energiepreise

Der Artikel beleuchtet die aktuellen Auswirkungen der Coronakise auf verschiedene Umweltaspekte und Energiepreise. Durch die Einschränkungen der wirtschaftlichen Aktivität und der damit einhergehenden Nachfrage nach Energie zeigt sich eine deutliche Reduktion der Schadstoffbelastung wie Feinstaub und Stickstoffdioxid und damit eine deutliche Verbesserung der Luftqualität. Zudem wird mit einem Rückgang der weltweiten CO2-Emissionen um 5,5% gerechnet. Dies ist jedoch nicht ausreichend, um die weltweiten Klimaziele langfristig einzuhalten. Auch die Rohölpreise und die CO2-Zertifikatepreise reagierten stark auf die getroffenen Maßnahmen. So sank der Ölpreis bereits im Februar um 12%. Nichtsdestotrotz wird befürchtet, dass die Emissionen nach einer Lockerung der Maßnahmen deutlicher ansteigen, als dies vor der Krise der Fall war. Zudem ist noch unklar, welche Auswirkungen die Krise auf bereits beschlossene Vereinbarungen, wie den EU Green Deal, und weitere Abkommen haben könnte. Es wird von Bedeutung sein, den Fokus auf eine langfristig emissionsfreie Wirtschaft zu lenken.
