La igualdad entre mujeres y hombres: una asignatura pendiente
The main objective of this article is to analyse women’s and men’s relationships with work, especially with the labour market. It covers matters such as training, labour activity, unemployment, job segregation, remuneration and job insecurity. Although the analysis focuses on the labour environment, references to inequality in the distribution of unpaid work are inevitable because this lies behind much of the inequality in the labour market. The second part of the text first discusses the continuing inequality between women and men and the slow progress being made in achieving real equality. It then considers measures taken in recent years to eliminate gender inequality and pays special attention to a new, innovative proposal we consider of interest, the drafting of budgets from a gender point of view.
