La population marocaine : reconstitution de l'évolution de 1950 à 1971
SUMMARY Stable population methods are applied to the population of Morocco, to estimate basic population parameters from incomplete data. Age- distributions and rates of increase are often accepted as sufficient to identify the stable population model. But migration, under-enumeration and false age declarations must also be taken into consideration. After these adjustements have been made, four kinds of models are applied to the Mostem population of Morocco from 1960 to 1971. The main results are : Rate of increase2.8 to 2.9 % a year Crude birth rate44.0 to 49.5 per 1 000 Crude death rate16.0 to 20.5 per 1 000 Expectation of life at birth45.0 to 50 years Gross reproduction rate3.0 to 3.1 % Fertility results seem reliable, but those for mortality less so. They show that mortality did not fall between 1960 and 1971, which seems surprising.
