La tasa de ganancia en Chile 1986-2009

This article presents the results of an investigation about the profit rate of the Chilean economy, for the period 1986-2009, and its relations with other economic categories, from the Marxist political economy approach. The author constructs the series for the basic categories of the valorization process (constant capital, variable capital and surplus) on the basis of Chilean national accounts. The tendency of the profit rate to fall that appears in the period, is violently interrupted by a notable rise since 2004. This growth of profitability levels is clearly related to the international prices of mining merchandises, which even allow to avoid a real productivity per worker stagnation in the Chilean economy
