Le social dans la reconstruction du Liban

Real efforts at reconstruction, based on overly optimistic, and so overly expensive scenarios, and the incoherence of the stated objectives have caused distortions in the GDP which lead to deterioration in social conditions. Inequalities have worsened on all levels: in salaries, health and education, and a third of the Lebanese population is now poor. In the author's opinion, the crisis is serious and, in the absence of any real social policy, individuals will become increasingly dependent on their communities which offer a relative degree of support and protection.
