It is in such respect that the promoters do not hesitate to praise its virtues and to make increasingly exaggerated promises. They thus run the risk of indulging in a simplistic and dangerous discourse, with regard to engagements that are difficult to respect. Educating funding agencies towards a more realistic approach would obviously be a better means of ensuring the development of healthy and sustainable micro-finance.
