Local Governance and Participatory Development

During the last decade or so conceptual as well as implementation issues related to good governance and decentralization came to occupy rather important concerns in the agenda of international aid organizations. Programs/projects in the developing countries, and especially those implemented foreign assistance usually have these two components built in to them.
