Malaysian Sukuk Trading and Information System : An Overview

Market Information availability to Markey players in money and capital market is not only a necessity but a desideratum. Information is crucial to efficient functioning of financial system especially in deepening the domestic financial market as it assists in fair value allocation to financial instruments. This paper aimed at examining the role of information technology in Sukuk trading in Malaysian capital market from the stage of Sukuk issuance and introduction to the market, through Fully Automated System for Issuing/Tendering (FAST), Sukuk trading through Real-Time Electronic Transfer of Funds and Securities (RENTAS) and pricing and market information through Electronic Trading Platform (EPT).Further improvement in information technology will enhance cross boarder capital flow and increase participation of foreign investors in the Malaysian Sukuk market
