Marketing als Erfolgskonzept in der Rezession
Auf die Rezession zu Beginn der 90er Jahre haben die meisten Unternehmen mit Maßnahmen der Kosteneinsparung und Rationalisierung reagiert und dabei oft auch die Marketingbudgets gekürzt. Empirische Untersuchungen aus Deutschland und der Schweiz belegen übereinstimmend die Dominaz der Kostenorientierung gegenüber der Marktorientierung im Rahmen des betrieblichen Rezessionsmanagements. Eine eigene empirische Studie, die am Vorabend der Rezession in der westdeutschen Industrie durchgeführt worden ist, stellt die Zweckmäßikeit der Dominanz des Kostenmanagements jedoch in Frage. Eine mit LISREL 8 druchgeführte Kausalanalyse zeigt nämlich, daß angesichts enger werdender Absatzmärkte, wie sie auch mit einer Rezssion einhergehen, eine Forcierung der Marktorientierung der noch effektivere Weg ist, der drohenden Erfolgseinbuße entgegenzuwirken. Maßnahmen des Rationalisierungs- und Kostenmanagements entfalten ihre volle Wriksamkeit erst dann, wenn sie in ein Gesamtkonzept des Rezessionsmanagements eingebettet sind, in dem die Marktorientierung die führende Rolle einnimmt. Offensichtlich scheinen aber zahlreiche Unternehmen das Krsienbewältigungspotential des Marketing in der Rezession zu übersehen.
