Mediacommunications and Regional Development of Russia : Challenges and Opportunities

The paper deals with the problem of challenges and opportunities of mediakomunications in regional development. We focused on the creation of optimal image of each subject of the Russian Federation. In our opinion media employees need more knowledge of the characteristics of the regional economy, investment marketing, strategic management of the region, territorial development. Such knowledge is important to understand the meaning of the strategic goals of the development of the regions of Russia. We made the conclusion that the creation of an optimal image of each republic becomes one of the important tools of both partnerships in the economic and political spheres, as well as in maintaining and developing one’s own mentalities. Of course, this affects, first of all, the sphere of interethnic relations, where the ability for deeper knowledge of each other by ethnic groups and strengthening the relationship between them is achieved by tolerance, adherence to generally accepted norms of interaction and, of course, real and reliable coverage of events
