MIGRATION OF THE WORKFORCE – PANORAMIC VIEW Roxana Mihaela Pivoda, “Spiru Haret†University Constanta Camelia Boarcas, “Spiru Haret†University Constanta
Generally speaking, the population migration, and especially that of theworkforce, has become a widespread phenomenon in Romania since the fall ofcommunism, representing, maybe, one of the most important migratory fluxes atEuropean level.Nowadays, when the economic crisis has hit Europe, when the majority of the developedcountries perform a more rigorous control over immigration, they are the most affectedby a slow down of the economic growth. This being due, mainly, to the industries inwhich immigrants are employed, or to the vulnerability of the type of jobs which areimmediately put at risk by a negative change in the country’s economic strength.
