NicoNpc@Cf Nanocomposites Derived from Nico-Mof/Cotton for Electromagnetic Wave Absorption
Light-weight and low-cost electromagnetic (EM) wave absorption materials are in urgent need, as EM and radiation interference pollution is increasingly serious. Carbon materials as EM absorbers have attracted ever increasing attention, because of their high electrical conductivity, large specific surface area and low density. However, their absorption property is still limited. Herein, we propose a very simple strategy to prepare hierarchical carbon fiber coated with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and NiCo/C flower-like particles (NiCo@NPC@CF), using cotton and metal-organic framework (MOF) as precursors. The minimum reflection loss (RL min ) of hierarchical NiCo@NPC@CF is dramatically enhanced to −46.5 dB with a wide effectively absorption bandwidth (EAB) of 15.3 GHz. The excellent EM wave absorption performance is attributed to the micro-to-nano hierarchical hollow fibrous structure, as well as the synergetic effect of dielectric loss and magnetic loss. Therefore, this work provides a green, low-cost and sustainable strategy to prepare excellent microwave absorbers utilizing biomass and MOF precursor
