Non-Financial Measures in Quality Environments : Their Contribution to Business Performance

This study analyses the use of non-financial performance measures by companies committed to the TQM philosophy, and if this use translates to improved business performance. The research was conducted among companies in the Spanish furniture industry. Analysing the results showed that the companies implementing TQM practices above the mean level are also those that utilise non-financial measures to a greater degree. Furthermore, the results confirmed such measures’ positive impact on business performance, thus corroborating this effect as independent from the level of TQM implementation
