On Some Aspects of Ecological Resilience and the Conservation of Species

The significance of the concept of resilience in determining the static and the dynamic behavior of jointly determined ecological-economic systems has been recognized by ecologists for quite some time now. However, there are very few formal studies of ecological-economic systems that explicitly analyze the ecological and the economic aspects of the joint determination problem. As such, this paper has two goals. First, a new stationary probability based technique is used to describe the concept of ecological resilience.
