Pengaruh Karakteristik Kader Posyandu terhadap Penimbangan Balita di Kecamatan Kembang Tanjung Kabupaten Pidie Provinsi Aceh

One of the objectives in the implementation of Integrated Service Post is to reduce the mortality and morbidity rate for the babies and to optimize the potential of child growth through the Baby Weighing Program. The implementation on Baby Weighing in Kembang Tanjung sub-district, Pidie district is still categorized low and achieved only for 54.6% of the targeted result for 90.0%.The objective of this research was to analyze the influence of the characteristics of the cadres of Integrated Service Post (age, marriage status, occupation, education, income, reward, length as the cadre) on the baby weighing in Kembang Tanjung sub¬district, Pidie district. This was explanatory survey research which was conducted from March up to February 2011. The sample were all cadres of Integrated Service Post which were still active in Kembang Tanjung sub-district for 120 cadres. Data were collected through direct interview referring to the questionnaire. The data were analyzed using multiple logistic regression test.The results of the research showed that baby weighing was not well-done (55%). All the variable of the characteristics had influence on the baby weighing. The variable of length as the cadre was the variable which had dominant influence on baby weighing.It is suggested to the local government to give support and intensive motivation for the cadres of Integrated Service Post in order to add their performance through the periodical training, and also to do championship among those Integrated Service Post such as healthy baby championship, cadres meeting, and quick response answer with the expectation that it may reach the independent Integrated Service Post and to achieve the scope of baby weighing.
