Performance-Studie deutscher Familienunternehmen
Die Arbeit untersucht die Performance von Familienunternehmen im Rahmen einer empirischen Studie anhand von 892 Datens?tzen aus den Jahren 2004 und 1999. Die heterogene Stichprobe besteht aus deutschen Unternehmen des verarbeitenden Gewerbes unabh?ngig von Rechtsform, B?rsennotierung und Familienunternehmensstatus. Dabei erfolgt die deskriptive und multivariate Performance-Analyse unter Ber?cksichtigung spezifischer Corporate Governance-Strukturen und Familiencharakteristika. So werden die Familienunternehmen durch den Einsatz vielf?ltiger Familienvariablen hinsichtlich der Aspekte Eigentum, Kontrolle und Management differenziert. Als theoretische Grundlage dient die Prinzipal-Agenten-Theorie; verschiedene Agency-Konflikte insbesondere zwischen Eignerfamilien und externen Anteilseignern gelten als urs?chlich f?r Performanceunterschiede zwischen Familienunternehmen und Nichtfamilienunternehmen. Entsprechend werden die M?glichkeiten zur Disziplinierung der Akteure ?ber die Mechanismen der Corporate Governance ausf?hrlich erwogen.
