AbstractPRINCIPLES OF ON DEMAND SYSTEMS: STUDIES IN SYSTEMSORIENTED ARCHITECTUREBy: Sascha VitzthumWith the proliferation of Information and CommunicationTechnologies (ICT)and the digitalization of information, services have permeatedorganizations and markets.Industries, public institutions, and enterprise are transforminginto entities that provide ondemand services to requesting entities. The dissertationexamines the inherent principlesof on demand systems. The studies represented in thisresearch effort explore thepresence and absence of several of the key principles underlyingthe on demandenvironment in order to understand and predict innovativedirections in the migrationtoward, and beyond, on demand environments and futurecomputing paradigms.
