Dieses Lehrbuch gibt einen umfassenden Überblick über Stand und Entwicklung der wissenschaftlichen Ansätze zur Produktionsplanung. Im Anschluß an eine Bestandsaufnahme der für die Produktionsplanung relevanten betrieblichen Tatbestände werden im zweiten Teil der Arbeit die wichtigsten Teilgebiete behandelt: Lagerhaltung und Losgrößenbestimmung, Reihenfolgeplanung bzw. Maschinenbelegungsplanung und Bestimmung der Seriensequenzen sowie Materialwirtschaft. Die zur Lösung dieser Probleme verfügbaren Methoden und Modelle werden aufgeführt. Der dritte Teil befaßt sich mit den Möglichkeiten, diese Instrumente zu einem System der betrieblichen Gesamtplanung zu integrieren. Hierbei werden zunächst die Möglichkeiten und Grenzen betrieblicher Totalmodelle auf der Grundlage der Linearen Programmierung behandelt. Im Anschluß daran werden Lösungsansätze der Praxis - PPS-Systeme und Computer-Integrated Manufacturing - sowie die Konzepte der Produktion auf Abruf dargestellt. Den Abschluß bildet die Darstellung und Analyse der hierarchischen Produktionsplanung als Synthese der beiden angesprochenen Lösungsansätze. Da bereits nach relativ kurzer Zeit eine Neuauflage erforderlich war, konnten sich die Verfasser auf die Korrektur von Fehlern und einige geringfügige inhaltliche Änderungen beschränken. Das Lehrbuch wendet sich sowohl an Studenten der Wirtschaftswissenschaften als auch an Praktiker, Betriebswirte sowie Ingenieure
