Quand la séparation des parents s’accompagne d’une rupture du lien entre le père et l’enfant
D'après l'enquête Érfi de 2005, près d'un enfant mineur de parents séparés sur dix ne voit jamais son père. Plus l'enfant est jeune au moment de la séparation des parents, moins il fréquente son père par la suite. La proportion d'enfants ne voyant plus leur père est plus élevée lorsque la demande de divorce n'a pas été conjointe mais à l'initiative de l'un des deux parents. Elle est aussi plus élevée lorsque le père est peu diplômé, au chômage ou en emploi précaire, ou a de faibles revenus. La rupture du lien père-enfant est moins fréquente avec une résidence alternée.
