Rationales Herdenverhalten - Theorie, Empirie und Lösungsansätze
Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wird rationales Herdenverhalten anhand der Informationskaskadenmodelle sowie der Reputationsmodelle (Prinzipal-Agent-Kontext bei Existenz relativer Leistungsbewertung) analysiert. Im Bereich der Theorie wird die Frage beantwortet, welche Annahmen unverzichtbar sind für das Auftreten von Herdenverhalten. Bezüglich der Empirie werden zwei Fragestellungen untersucht. Zum einen wird analysiert, dass vorliegende, spezifische empirische Befunde zum Herdenverhalten eher mit Hypothesen vereinbar sind, die aus dem Informationskaskadenmodell abgeleitet werden. Zum anderen wird dargestellt, dass die empirisch festgestellte, unterschiedliche Neigung zum Herdenverhalten für Fondsmanager, Analysten und Topmanager mit der Vergütungsstruktur dieser Akteure erklärt werden kann. Zuletzt wird bei der Untersuchung von Lösungsansätzen bei beiden Modellansätzen nach Mechanismen gesucht, die die negativen Konsequenzen aus dem Auftreten von rationalem Herdenverhalten abmildern können. Hierbei werden verschiedene Ansätze diskutiert. Beispielsweise können im Informationskaskadenmodell Fehlentscheidungen der Akteure verhindert werden, wenn öffentlich verfügbare Information zur Verfügung gestellt wird. Das Hauptergebnis der Analyse ist, dass bei der Diskussion von Lösungsansätzen ein Kosten/Nutzen-Kalkül beachtet werden muss.
