Return the Streets

Unadopted roads are more environmentally friendly, and safer for children and drivers than those adopted by the local council. They follow their residents' priorities for street lighting, security, and speed bumps better than local authority ones. They cost less to create and maintain and residents can charge to use them if they wish. The efforts of residents to resolve conflicts forges community spirit. In this case report two adjacent roads are described. One owned by the residents (unadopted), the other owned by the local council (adopted)
