Role of Civil Society in Mizoram

It is known among mankind that the legitimacy of law, of the rule, of policy or in short, of Government, is the people who constitute society. Even if totalitarian state claimed to be a legitimate one, the real foundation or source of legitimacy is the collective will of the people as Rousseau claims it; and that collective deliberation must be the deciding agent of the government as a claim by deliberative democrats today. Raising debate among academician is that civil society in Mizoram wields so much power that it might be able to control the state and government. But the role of civil society is slowly declining mainly because people do not justify most of the actions taken by the civil society groups
