Role of Emerging Small Scale Industries in the Rural Development of North-Eastern States of India : An Analytical Approach

This paper has two basic objectives: (1) to analyse the structure of the Small Scale Industries (SSis) of North-Eastern states of India, (2) to review the current status of SSIs in rural areas in comparison with urban areas. The empirical analysis concludes that the numbers of SSIs are inadequate in this region which is reflexive of overall underdevelopment in terms of industrialization.
