Series históricas del PIB y componentes del gasto, 1986-2008
The establishment of reference compilation 2008, in December 2011, resulted in the upgrade of the national accounts series since 2008. It also involved the development of a comprehensive backward data-chain process for the period 2003-2008, to give the public timely longest historical series, for a statistical-nature chain data for the period 1986-2003. The chained data were published in April 2012. In a further effort to obtain time series as consistent as possible, this paper presents a review of the first version of chained series, following the extension of comprehensive fitting process to the period 1996- 2003. This involved the type approval of the main methodologies for estimating the 2008 reference, and the reconciliation of the results in the context of the supply and use. As in the previous publication, the previous figures to 1996 were obtained through statistical data-chain process which partially incorporated new standard methodologies. The new chained data series denote minor changes in the evolution of the GDP for the entire period, with the advantage of greater methodological consistency and a detailed treatment of seasonal patterns.
