Short-Term Action in Pursuit of Long-Term Improvements: Introducing Kaizen Events - This article contains a new technique, the kaizen event, for achieving significant long-term improvements in a short time frame. We describe the basics of kaizen events, discuss some results from one firm that has used this technique extensively, and note the implications for both management and researchers
