Short-termism and genuineness in environmental initiatives: a comparative case study of two oil companies
Summary Debate still rages about whether the cure to climate change could be worse than the disease. This paper reports the findings of a study examining the influence of short-termism on the genuineness of corporate environmental initiatives. After identifying the environmental initiatives at ExxonMobil and Royal Dutch Shell, we present a model to analyse short-termism and genuineness.
