Sind Zuwanderer der zweiten Generation im deutschen Schulsystem doppelt benachteiligt? : die Bedeutung der frühen Mehrgliedrigkeit für erfolgreiche Integration

Fast ein Fünftel der Bevölkerung Deutschlands hat einen Migrationshintergrund, bei den Unter-20-Jährigen sind es sogar knapp 30%. Einen großen Anteil machen die Zuwanderer der zweiten Generation aus. Insbesondere im Hinblick auf deren Bildungs- und Arbeitsmarkterfolg sind erhebliche Integrationsdefizite erkennbar. Zum einen erzielen Zuwanderer der zweiten Generation niedrigere Bildungsabschlüsse als Personen ohne Migrationshintergrund. Zum anderen verdienen sie im Durchschnitt weniger und sind häufiger von Arbeitslosigkeit betroffen. Eine neue Forschungsarbeit des ifo Instituts bringt den mangelnden Bildungs- und Arbeitsmarkterfolg von Zuwanderern der zweiten Generation in Verbindung mit der frühen Mehrgliedrigkeit im deutschen Schulsystem. Die Ergebnisse weisen darauf hin, dass Zuwanderer der zweiten Generation selbst bei gleichen kognitiven Leistungen noch signifikant häufiger eine Empfehlung für eine niedrigere Schulform erhalten als Kinder ohne Migrationshintergrund. Jedoch findet sich zwischen Übergangsempfehlungen für weiterführende Schulen von Zuwanderern der zweiten Generation und Kindern ohne Migrationshintergrund desselben Leistungsniveaus und desselben sozioökonomischen Hintergrunds keine signifikanten Unterschiede. Da Zuwanderer der zweiten Generation jedoch gehäuft aus niedrigeren sozioökonomischen Schichten stammen, sind sie durch Effekte des sozioökonomischen Hintergrunds beim Übergang auf weiterführende Schulen besonders betroffen.
