Small Income Gains and Increase in Wage Disparities in the Eighties in OECD Countries
With the slowdown in economic growth in the eighties income gains in the OECD countries also fell off markedly. This development was accompanied by a substantial redistribution: the functional distribution shifted from wage income to proprietors' and business income; wage differentials between various sectors increased markedly, but differentials between women and men declined.
