Social Capital and Social Alliance : Building Relationship

A social alliance is a concept that people struggle to provide for themselves, but is rarely fully understood. In recent years, there has been a growing, strongly accruing, realization that people are abreast of the knowledge/situation/information that is evolving continuously. More organisations are becoming aware of the importance of social interactions and relationships at work. Consequently, organisations are faced with a challenge to understand this phenomenon and its implications on the workplace. The enlightened few have recognized that social capital does occur in significant ways in our day to day friendship, courtship or colleagues (workship). It is in the acknowledgment of these new ways of interactions, heard through innumerous channels, that I believe, desired change will occur in our relationships. Additionally,the literature on social capital indicates that as a strategic business partner, there is an immediate need for the scholars and professionals in the field of human resource development to address this emerging challenge
