Some Proposals for an Employment Strategy for Human Development, Poverty Eradication and Environmental Regeneration
Dharam Ghai puts forward some practical proposals for accelerating the tempo of human development, poverty eradication and environmental regeneration in the countries of the South. He focuses on an employment strategy designed to enhance remunerative work and livelihood opportunities. He discusses the centrality of work before outlining the five pillars of an employment-oriented strategy in developing countries. He also considers how the North and the international community can reinforce the thrust of such a strategy geared to social development and environmental improvement.
