Sonocatalytic Degradation of Tetracycline by Biobr/Fewo4 Nanomaterials in Collaboration with Potassium Persulfate
BiOBr/FeWO 4 with p-n heterostructure were synthesized by a two-step hydrothermal method, and cooperated with K 2 S 2 O 8 to perform ultrasonic degradation of Tetracycline (TC). The experiment was performed for analytical characterization by X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), High-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), diffuse reflectance spectra (DRS) and Barrett-Joyner-Halenda (BJH) equation. The experiment results showed that BiOBr/FeWO 4 sonocatalyst removed the TC by 86.54±4.26% within 120 min, and the mechanism of TC degradation by BiOBr/FeWO 4 was proposed. K 2 S 2 O 8 was verified to efficiently enhance the sonocatalytic performance of BiOBr/FeWO 4 , and with which the removal ratio of TC can reach 92.99±0.24% within 30 min and 96.54±0.16% within 60 min by using BiOBr/FeWO 4 . The peak shape of the XPS of freshly prepared sonocatalyst and that of recycling 3 times were same through the detection, meanwhile, inductively coupled plasma (ICP) also detected the low content of Fe (<0.4%), W (<0.02%) and Bi (<0.02%) of the sonocatalyst in the solution after the reaction, which indicated that the sonocatalyst had excellent reusable performance. Finally, a possible degradation products and pathway of TC were proposed after the Quadrupole-Time of Flight Mass Spectrometer (MS Q-TOF) analysis of the degradation products of TC
