In der guten fachlichen Praxis des Bundes-Bodenschutzgesetzes ist gesetzlich festgelegt, dass der standorttypische Humusgehalt eines Bodens zu erhalten ist (§ 17 II 7 BBodSchG). Spezifikationen hinsichtlich dieses standorttypischen Humusgehaltes in untergesetzlichen Regelwerken fehlen allerdings. Um Werte zuverlässig für ganz Deutschland ableiten zu können, gab es bislang keine ausreichend repräsentative und methodisch einheitliche Datengrundlage. Durch die 2018 abgeschlossene erste Bodenzustandserhebung Landwirtschaft (BZE-LW) wurde diese Datengrundlage geschaffen. Ziel dieser Studie war es, auf Grundlage der Daten der BZE-LW standorttypische Wertebereiche für Corg- bzw. Humusgehalte in Abhängigkeit von Standortfaktoren abzuleiten. Darüber hinaus war es Ziel zu untersuchen, ob sich durch die historische Landnutzung, durch Landnutzungsänderungen oder durch die Flächenbewirtschaftung erklären lässt, warum Standorte Humusgehalte unter bzw. über den abgeleiteten standorttypischen Wertebereichen haben. Letztlich galt es zu bewerten, welche Potenziale und Grenzen die Ableitung und Ausweisung standorttypischer Humusgehalte haben. Hierzu wurden in Abhängigkeit der Standortfaktoren "Landnutzungsart", "Textur", C/N-Verhältnis" und "Niederschlag" 33 Klassen gebildet und für jede der Klassen standorttypische Wertebereiche ausgewiesen. Standorte mit sehr hohen oder sehr niedrigen Corg-Gehalten (25 % der extremen Werte) sind als nicht-standorttypisch abgegrenzt worden. Die grafische Darstellung des Ableitungsschemas sowie der Wertebereiche erfolgte als Entscheidungsbaum. Die Arbeit zeigt, dass für Mineralböden eine Ableitung standorttypischer Humusgehalte auf Grundlage der Daten der BZE-LW möglich ist, und weist erstmalig bundesweit abgesicherte standorttypische Humusgehalte in Form von Wertebereichen aus. Trotz der großen Variabilität zwischen den Standorten und der Überlappung der Corg- bzw. Humuswertebereiche, spiegeln die Unter- und Obergrenzen der standorttypischen Wertebereiche die Beziehungen zwischen den Standortfaktoren und dem Humusgehalt deutlich wider. Bei den Landnutzungsarten ist neben "Acker" und "Dauergrünland" auch eine Klasse für "Grünland-Wechselwirtschaft" ausgewiesen worden, die Corg-Gehalte aufwies, die genau zwischen denen von Acker und Dauergrünland lagen. In Abhängigkeit des Ton- und Schluffgehaltes wurden fünf Texturklassen gebildet, mit allgemein steigenden standorttypischen Corg-Gehalten mit zunehmenden Tongehalten. Bei leichten Böden wurde die historische Landnutzung als Moor oder Heide durch eine Stratifizierung nach C/N-Verhältnis berücksichtigt: Der Corg-Gehalt in diesen Böden mit einem Tongehalt < 12 % war genauso hoch wie in den tonreichsten Böden mit einem Tongehalt > 35 %. Der Niederschlag hatte auf Deutschlandebene größeren Einfluss auf den Corg-Gehalt als die Temperatur oder Höhenlage. Es erfolgte deshalb eine Stratifizierung nach Niederschlag, wobei Standorte mit höherem Niederschlag höhere Corg-Gehalte aufwiesen. Die Faktoren "ökologischer Landbau", "Zufuhr an organischer Substanz", eine Moorvergangenheit, Landnutzungsänderungen sowie der Grundwassereinfluss trugen in 39 % der Fälle dazu bei, dass Corg-Gehalte außerhalb der jeweiligen standorttypischen Wertebereiche lagen. Die in dieser Arbeit abgeleiteten standorttypischen Wertebereiche für Corg- bzw. Humusgehalte leisten einen Beitrag zur Einordnung des Begriffs "standorttypischer Humusgehalt" im Rahmen des § 17 II 7 BBodSchG. Sie ermöglichen den Vergleich gemessener Corg-Gehalte und daraus abgeleiteter Humusgehalte mit "standorttypischen Wertebereichen" in Deutschland. Diese Einordnung kann neben Informationen über die zeitliche Veränderung von Humusgehalten ein Kriterium zur Bewertung des Humuszustands sein.
