Start-ups und Mittelstand: Potenziale und Herausforderungen von Kooperationen
Die Zusammenarbeit von etabliertem Mittelstand und innovativen Start-ups bietet erhebliche Chancen für die jeweiligen Unternehmen und für die deutsche Wirtschaft insgesamt. Neue Geschäftsmodelle können übernommen und innovative Produkte gemeinsam entwickelt werden. Die Digitalisierung des Mittelstands könnte durch Kooperationen mit digitalen Start-ups einen Schub erhalten. Das demografisch bedingt - aber möglicherweise auch aufgrund einer bislang zögerlichen Digitalisierung - nachlassende Wachstumspotenzial der deutschen Wirtschaft könnte so gesteigert werden. Um die Kooperationspotenziale zu nutzen, müssen jedoch die kulturellen Differenzen zwischen den beiden Unternehmenstypen überwunden und die Kontaktanbahnung bei unterschiedlichen regionalen Standortschwerpunkten erleichtert werden. Die vorliegende Analyse untersucht den Stand der Kooperationsbeziehungen anhand verfügbarer Studien und einer ökonometrischen Auswertung des BDI-Familienunternehmenspanels. Basierend auf Experteninterviews mit Entscheidern aus Start-ups, Mittelstand und Verbänden werden Potenziale zur Stärkung der Kooperationsbeziehungen zwischen etabliertem Mittelstand und der wachsenden Start-up-Szene aufgezeigt.
