Studienverläufe von Betriebswirten an der Technischen Universität Berlin: Eine Analyse von Prüfungsamtsdaten
Für eine Verbesserung der Lehre an Universitäten ist ein indikatorengestütztes Informationssystem notwendig, welches als Basis für eine Schwachstellenanalyse und eine leistungsorientierte Mittelzuweisung dienen kann. Die vorliegende Studie untersucht auf der Grundlage von Prüfungsamtsdaten von 498 Studierenden der Immatrikulationsjahrgänge 1990 und 1992 objektive qualitative Indikatoren für die Leistung der Lehre im Fach Betriebswirtschaftslehre an der Technischen Universität Berlin. Die untersuchten Indikatoren sind Abbrecherquote (einschließlich Fachwechslerquote), Absolventenquote, Fachstudiendauer, Notenniveau und Durchfallquote. Zusammengefasst für alle untersuchten Studienverläufe ergeben sich eine Abbrecherquote von 40,5 % und Fachwechslerquote von 8,1 %, eine durchschnittliche Studiendauer von 11 Semestern (Median), eine durchschnittliche Hauptdiplomnote von 2,4 und eine allgemeine Durchfallquote von 16,3 %. Über diese allgemeinen Informationen hinaus untersuchen wir die Gründe für einen Studienabbruch, Absolventenquoten für verschiedene Gruppen von Studierenden, mögliche Gründe für die Verzögerung des Studiums, Durchfallquoten für verschiedene Prüfungen sowie Unterschiede in der Notenverteilung zwischen Grund- und Hauptstudium. Die Ergebnisse der Studie dienten als Grundlage für die neue, im Juli 2000 in Kraft getretene, Prüfungsordnung, welche das Studium in wichtigen Punkten neu organisiert hat.
