Study on Development Strategies of Muslim-Friendly Tourism Ecosystem

Indonesia as a country with a Muslim population reaching 87.18% has the potential to develop Muslim-friendly tourism. In this study, observations were made in two provinces, namely Banten Province and East Java Province with the majority of the Muslim population. This study aims to obtain an overview of the existing conditions of Muslim Friendly Tourism (PRM) and program proposals to the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy / Baparekraf as policymakers related to Muslim-friendly tourism value chains. This study uses a quantitative approach with a direct survey to the location and distributing questionnaires of 114 respondents. A qualitative approach with a Review Paper that uses the exponential regression method and discussions with key informants of policymakers, namely the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy / Baparekraf and the Coordinating Ministry for Marves. The survey results show that the respondents agree that the tourism potential in Indonesia is Muslim-friendly tourism by providing additional facilities to develop Muslim-friendly tourism, for example, prayer places, halal food and drinks, etc. Respondents agreed with the Clean, Health, Safety & Environment (CHSE) principles that the government is implementing in the tourism sector. The results of a review paper with a quantitative approach to research conducted in Banten show that the proportion of local sons working in their regions will affect the level of innovation capability and thus the competition for the use of the same infrastructure and resources. This is supported by the fact that the Bappeda of Lebak Regency has an innovative vision and that Lebak Regency develops Muslim-friendly tourism. Meanwhile, in East Java Province, there was an increase in the percentage of innovation capability due to an increase in the proportion of the number of schools and also due to an increase in the level of competence that took advantage of the added value of raw materials
