'Success Virus' The Practice of Corporate Social Responsibility and Improvement of Local Economic Development Through Partnership Program (Study in Trained Partners of Indonesia Cement Ltd in Gresik Indonesia)

This study aims to describe and to explain the practice of Corporate Social Responsibility in the form of a partnership program in Indonesia Cement Ltd. To capture the reality that is present in this study, the authors used naturalistic approach so that reality can be described as natural as possible. Moreover, the authors' techniques of collecting data are using interviews, in-depth observation and documentary. The sources and types of data in this study were obtained from key informants which is part of the principal or owner partners. In this case the sampling is done with theoretical and snowball sampling, which means that the sample in this study was taken with qualitative approach. Meanwhile, the respondents in this study are those that are relevant and competent with the problems studied. The results of this research are, First, this partnership program is intended to assist the partners which previously did not have a reliable business skill to the level that they are finally able to manage the business to compete with others. Second, the partnership of Indonesia Cement Ltd has been able to alleviate poverty in the surrounding communities through a revolving fund. Third, all partners Indonesia Cement Ltd have the concept to succeed. It can be seen from significant growth in the welfare of people in the town of Gresik.Fourth, the character of “ngemong” to bring them success is the key to success for Indonesia Cement Ltd in managing the partnership program. Fifth, the value of success does not have to harm the environment.Lastly, when one-person success can motivate the local people to adopt and grow together, then that person will be a “success virus” for the surrounding community. If the virus can be managed properly then ‘success virus' can spread in wider range. The assortment of success viruses will impact in increasing people's purchasing power. If the purchasing power increases we will certainly believe that they are already prosperous. Public welfare is key to boost the local economy
