Türkei: Neue Kämpfe an alten Fronten. Die Wahl des Präsidenten als Brennpunkt kemalistisch-konservativer Auseinandersetzungen
In der Türkei findet gegenwärtig eine weitere Runde im Abwehrkampf der laizistisch-kemalistischen Staatseliten und des großstädtischen Mittelstandes gegen die Herausforderung durch die konservativ-traditionellen Kräfte der türkischen Gesellschaft statt. Nachdem die Verteidiger der kemalistischen Republik der Regierungspartei AKP den Griff nach dem Amt des Staatspräsidenten (vorläufig) verwehren konnten, sollen vorgezogene Parlamentswahlen den Weg aus der entstandenen Krise weisen. Dass Wahlen dies leisten werden, ist jedoch wenig wahrscheinlich. Der strukturelle Grundkonflikt zwischen kemalistischem »Zentrum« und konservativer »Peripherie« bleibt bestehen. Für die EU stellt sich die Frage, wie sie mit den dadurch ebenfalls fortbestehenden autoritären Defekten der türkischen Demokratie umgehen soll. (SWP-aktuell/ SWP)
