Telemanagement: Notwendigkeit für ein komplexes Verhaltensrepertoire
Abstract Anforderungen an die Führung virtueller Teams und die Effekte von Führungs- und Kommunikationsverhalten auf Teamleistung und soziale Prozesse im Team wurden in mündlichen und schriftlichen Befragungen von 29 Führungskräften sowie schriftlicher Befragung ihrer verteilt arbeitenden Teams (N=134) erfasst. Es zeigte sich, dass sowohl moderne Führungskonzepte wie Empowering Leadership als auch traditionelle Ansätze wie die direktive Führung in den mentalen Modellen der Führungskräfte nebeneinander existieren und selten als widersprüchlich erkannt werden. Anliegen vieler Führungskräfte ist es, situationsangemessen auf verschiedene Führungsstile zurückgreifen zu können. Vor allem in stark verteilten Teams scheint dies eine erfölgversprechende Strategie zu sein. Differenzen in der Wahrnehmung sozialer Prozesse zwischen Vorgesetzten und Mitarbeitenden stehen in negativem Zusammenhang zur Leistung, was die Bedeutsamkeit gemeinsamer mentaler Modelle der Team- und Führungssituation aufzeigt. Von den Führungskräften wurde ein breites Spektrum an Medien situations- und aufgabenangemessen eingesetzt. Es fand sich auch ein positiver Zusammenhang zwischen dem Virtualitätsgrad der Teams und der Kommunikationsqualität.
