The Compatibility of Post-Keynesian Institutionalism and Law and Political Economy
Disenchanted with the conventional approach to Law and Economics in an era of multiple crises, law professors and other interested scholars are currently exploring and developing an alternative approach called Law and Political Economy (LPE). A key starting point for LPE is that this alternative is not bound to the orthodoxy of neoclassical economics, drawing instead on various traditions of political economy. This paper introduces one contemporary strand of political economy—post-Keynesian institutionalism (PKI)—and underscores its compatibility with LPE. Some attention is also given to the potential for mutual benefits resulting from collaboration between PKI and LPE scholars
