The Competitive Landscape of Entrepreneurship

This article sheds light on Egypt's entrepreneurship potential after the revolution. Egypt's new future must have a new economic sense. This new sense should not be an extension of the past but must be a newly designed facelift admirable to new generations. It must be different. It must have a new agenda and a new platform. It should also be disruptively different than the status quo right before January 25th, 2011. The new economic sense should be designed based on a new platform for business competition and a new display of entrepreneurship potential. Getting back to business as usual should not be the business plan. In the real economy, Egypt's entrepreneurship potential should be addressed by assessing the boundaries of its feasibility. The likelihood of an entrepreneurship venture should be assessed holistically by looking at national competitiveness pillars, and scrutinizing any room for improvement of the worst pillars, and pitching in any value-added potential of the best pillars not yet tapped. To make economic sense, this implies mapping business strategy and investment planning to the economy's competitive advantages and disadvantages simultaneously
