The Effect of Urban Form on Energy Consumption in the Transportation Sector in Iran
Energy consumption in the transportation sector has a significant contribution to energy consumption in Iran's economy. Different policies, such as changing fuel combinations by replacing fuel alternatives, make the system more efficient. Urban form and urbanization density are also new indicators that have been noticed in the last four decades. In this article, an attempt has been made to investigate the impact of urban form on energy consumption in the transportation sector by using reliable sources. For the data of the energy sector, we have used gasoline consumption data as a factor for consumption at the scale of cities and also Demographic and economic indicators have been used for analysis. In this article, different aspects of urban form on energy consumption have been depicted and we have concluded that the more compact the urban form is, the lower the energy consumption in most provinces. And in explaining dispersion, they are much more important than indicators showing density
