The European Dictionary of Skills and Competences (DISCO) : an example of usage scenarios for ontologies

DISCO uses a structured classification of data, a taxonomy of skills and competences to provide web users with a supporting tool for filling in and translating online forms like e.g. online versions of the Europass CV of National Europass Centres (NEC). But structured terminological classifications like the DISCO thesaurus can be used in several contexts and fields of applications. The DISCO-based creation of competence profiles for CV or job advertisements can be seen as a prerequisite for the matching of qualification supply and demand based on the same vocabulary.
