The Impact of Underwriting on Price Dispersion for Different Automobile Insurance Coverages
This study measures the variability of auto insurance prices for various coverages in a selected statewide market (Florida), determines whether such price dispersion is significantly different for different types of coverage, and indicates whether the observed differences in the level of price dispersion support the hypothesis that differences in underwriting standards have a greater impact on the variability of prices for the liability and collision coverage.
