The use of pipelines for the urban distribution of goods
This paper provides an analysis of the role of pipelines in urban areas for the distribution of freight -- an idea that has been considered, and even attempted occasionally over the last 150Â years. No attempt has been made previously to pull together the relevant literature, and this paper not only does this but also goes on to attempt to evaluate the potential contribution of pipelines towards the alleviation of the severe urban transport problem that exists.
