The Welfare Effects of Ethanol and Biodiesel Mandates on Edible Oil Uses in the United States

The purpose of this study is to analyze the welfare effects of the ethanol and biodiesel mandates on edible oil, gasoline and corn uses in the United States, as well as potential price increase caused by such mandates and policies. Despite all the claims that the federal mandates and policies have caused the prices of corn and vegetable oils to increased, the literature lacks the evidence and information needed to deduce any results and arrive in a an inclusive conclusion
