Trade experts gathered at the European University Institute (EUI) to talk about the major challenges the World Trade Organization (WTO) is facing, more in particular in light of the upcoming Ministerial Conference in Bali (December 2013). Topics of discussion included the shift towards “plurilateral” agreements and what outcome to expect in Bali. Participants saw eye to eye on the fact that the Conference will be a decisive moment and a critical opportunity to ensure that the WTO stays relevant in the governance of the global trade regime.
