Too Loose for Comfort - Is Current Monetary Policy Doing More Harm Than Good in the US and the UK?

Policymakers believe that ultra-low interest rates lead higher growth and employment rates. However, actual lending and investment, and therefore job creation, have been well below what was hoped for. Our finding is that ultra low rates hinder, rather than stimulate, economic activity, investment and productivity growth.
