Total Quality Management (TQM) and Business Performance : A Study of the Perception of Managers of Fast-Food Businesses in Awka Urban
This study assessed Total Quality Management (TQM) and business performance in fast-food businesses in Awka Urban. The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between quality practices and the performance of fast-food businesses in Awka Urban. Survey research design was employed and data were analyzed with mean, standard deviation and percentages. T-test statistics was used to test the formulated hypothesis at 5% (percent) level of significance. Findings revealed that there is no significant relationship between quality practices and the performance of fast-food businesses in Awka Urban. It is therefore recommended that managers and supervisors of fast-food businesses should adopt a holistic evaluation of their organizations' performance before arriving at a conclusion. We advocate that managers and supervisors of fast-food businesses should constantly and continuously scan the business environment as part of strategies and options for enhancing total quality management and fast tracking macroeconomic development in Africa
