Una lectura peruana del plan de convertibilidad argentino
This paper presents the main characteristics and achievements of the Argentinian Convertibility Plan, so as its potential risks. Comparative analysis with Peruvian experience are taken based on the central issues of discussion in our economy. It is tried to show that following different policies, we have similar risks and none of the virtues of the mentionated Plan. It is postulated that in Peru a desinflation has been produced and not an estabilization. Policies that are derived from the monetary-fiscal approaching and the opening import process are creating serious potencial risks of a foreign currency crisis, that is why it is necessary to change the actual economic policy. It is concluded that there are not conditions for the immediate application of a Plan's variant, but the actual policy must be modified for an alternative one. Some guide lines are given about that.
