Une interprétation des liens entre modes de contrôle, connaissances et systèmes d’information : le cas d’un SI dans un groupe d’hospitalisation privée

The objective of this paper is to contribute to the elaboration of a framework for analyzing the influence of Information Systems for modes of control in organizations. These systems are not always associated with results control. They also have consequences for behaviour control and social control. The approach is based on Ouchi’s typology of modes of control and notably on the idea that organizations choose modes of control according to their knowledge of the transformation process of input into the desired output as well as their ability to measure output. As happens, Information Systems today have properties that enable both the production and the mobilization of knowledge. In this context, the case study carried out on the surgical floors of a group of private hospitalization has allowed us to scrutinize the process by which IS can possibly influence modes of control. Eventually, this has led to an interpretation of IS as enablers for the production and the mobilization of knowledge about the desired behaviours for the organization.
